EKA Mobility, a pioneer in electric vehicles and technology, in a landmark step towards sustainable urban infrastructure, handed over 10 advanced electric garbage tippers to the Sankhali Municipal Council (SMC) in Goa. The deployment was officially inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant Ji on 5th June’ 25 reinforcing the state’s vision to lead by example in clean mobility and environmental stewardship.
The 10 electric garbage tippers being deployed are equipped with a top speed of 80 km/h and deliver a range of up to 180 km on a single charge, making it ideal for daily municipal operations. Powered by a robust 32 kWh lithium ferrous phosphate (LFP) battery, the vehicle ensures consistent performance with a full charging time of approximately 6–8 hours. With a payload capacity of around 1,000 kg, it strikes the perfect balance between utility and sustainability, enabling cleaner and more efficient garbage collection in city environments.
Mr. Rohit Srivastava, Business Head & Chief Growth Officer, EKA Mobility, said, “At EKA we believe sustainability begins at the street level — in the everyday services that define our cities. This deployment with SMC is a model for how municipalities can embrace innovation to serve both people and the planet.”
Ms. Siddhi S Prabhu Porob (Chairperson- SMC) & and Ms. Rashmi Dilip Desai (Former Chairperson, SMC), said “This partnership with EKA Mobility marks a pivotal moment in Sankhali’s journey towards cleaner, greener governance. These electric tippers will enhance the efficiency of waste collection and reflect our commitment to responsible and progressive urban development.”
This milestone is a key step towards Goa’s sustainable and environmentally friendly urban waste management. EKA’s electric garbage tippers, with zero tailpipe emissions, decreased noise pollution, and advanced telematics, are poised to revolutionize municipal garbage collection by making it cleaner, quieter, and more efficient.
