Sparkle is extending its network presence in the United States by launching a new Point of Presence (PoP) in San Diego, California. This move enhances its strategic infrastructure, adding to its existing locations in McAllen, El Paso, Dallas in the US, and Queretaro in Mexico. Such expansion aims to provide local customers with improved network diversification and redundancy.
This new PoP is strategically situated at the MDC carrier-neutral data center. It integrates fully with Sparkle’s expansive Tier-1 global IP backbone known as Seabone. With this backbone, Sparkle boasts significant coverage across the Americas, featuring 52 points of presence throughout countries like Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia, among others. Additionally, Sparkle’s terrestrial and submarine networks include four major “digital highways”: Curie in the Pacific and Monet, Seabras-1, and soon Manta in the Atlantic. These routes ensure diverse connectivity from South to North America, prioritizing redundancy and exceptional data experience.
For network operators, ISPs, OTTs, content delivery networks, and other content and application providers, this new node offers highly reliable, low-latency IP transit services. The throughput capability reaches the range of terabits per second. Customers also gain access to various IP solutions, including DDoS Protection to guard against cyber threats, and Virtual NAP, which allows virtual access to top Internet Exchange Points without the need to develop proprietary infrastructure.
As Sparkle continues to reinforce its presence globally, the company’s continuous innovation aligns with industry trends towards expansive and secure connectivity. This development is a promising stride in providing cutting-edge solutions for a range of telecommunications service providers and end-users alike.
