Spanish startup ODOS raises €680k for sustainability in the agri-food sector with their data-collection platform

ODOS, a Valencia-based AgriTech startup driving climate action in the agri-food sector, announced that it has closed a €680k funding round to expand its technological capabilities and enter new markets.

The round was led by Spain’s leading dairy cooperative CAPSA FOOD (Grupo Central Lechera Asturiana), with the support of Mercadona investing through Angels Capital and Tech Transfer Agrifood Oficial by CLAVE, a fund backed by agri-food companies.

The trust our investors place in our mission and management gives us the strength to scale our impact,” said Alejandro Vergara, CEO and Co-founder, ODOS. “With agriculture responsible for nearly 15% of global greenhouse gas emissions, transforming this sector is one of the most powerful ways to tackle climate change. We are here to help agri-food players comply and thrive with clarity, simplicity, and real results on the ground.”

Founded in 2020 and Co-founded by Alejandro Vergara and Cian White, ODOS is a joint University College Dublin and Trinity College Dublin spin-out company supported by the knowledge transfer teams at both universities.

The ODOS team is made up of 11 people from 9 different nationalities, which the company says reflects the global relevance of its mission.

The ODOS Mitigation Toolbox is a digital platform designed to help organisations move from simply measuring their environmental impact to actively reducing it. It enables users to plan and implement farm-level and supply chain decarbonisation strategies across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

By modelling the cost-effectiveness of incentive programmes and tracking real-time adoption, the platform supports data-driven decision-making and on-the-ground verification.

Aligned with leading sustainability frameworks like CSRD and SBTi, it facilitates both carbon insetting and operational efficiency improvements to support meaningful progress toward Net Zero goals.

ODOS looks to lead the transformation of the Agri-Food sector by simplifying data collection and providing profitable strategies for companies to take action without compromising productivity. The startup is already working with cooperatives and food companies across Europe.

Managing Director at Angels Pepe Peris emphasises ODOS’s practical and transformative approach: “Alejandro has spent many years focused on delivering a solution that is effective, measurable, and scalable for his clients. ODOS provides technology and strategy so companies can make decisions that truly reduce their environmental impact.

Currently supported by the Spanish accelerator Lanzadera, located in Valenica, ODOS is developing technology that enables cooperatives and farmers to measure, report, and verify their environmental impact, keeping up with growing climate and regulatory demands.

The entry of Angels, Capsa Food, and TTAF by CLAVE into ODOS’s capital strengthens its business model and validates its growth potential, paving the way for initial deals.

From CAPSA Food, Rubén Hidalgo, the company’s Open Innovation Director, adds: “With the tailored project at Cian, Alejandro and his team ensure our dual objective: to back talented entrepreneurial teams and to strengthen the dairy sector through technology and innovation, achieving greater environmental, social, and economic sustainability for our industry.
