Snapchat has announced a range of Super Bowl-themed activations to help users engage with the big game, and take part in America’s biggest sporting event.
And with the majority of Snapchat users planning to watch the game, it could be a big event for Snap, as users look to share their predictions, moments, and more in the app.
First off, Snapchat has its usual array of AR Lenses to help users celebrate the Super Bowl, including team-themed activations.

As you can see in these examples, Snapchat has a range of AR effects to choose from, including:
- NFL Super Bowl LIX Lens: With this AR Lens, fans can feature themselves and invite a friend to pose with Chiefs and Eagles Super Bowl LIX helmets. The Lens will also be updated post-Super Bowl to highlight the winner.
- NFL Live Jersey Lens: Available on the NFL’s official Snap Profile and Snap’s Lens Carousel, fans can seamlessly try on official jerseys for both Super Bowl teams using Snapchat’s Live Garment Transfer technology. Snapchatters can also visit NFLShop.com from the Lenses to purchase the jersey.
- Lens Collection & AR Bar: Snapchat will host a dedicated Super Bowl AR Bar and Lens Collection on Super Bowl Sunday featuring all NFL Lenses.
The effects will give users a way to take part in the event from home, and share their support in the app.
Snap says that it will also feature real-time Super Bowl highlights, behind-the-scenes content, and more, which will be available in Stories, Spotlight, and the official NFL profile.
Snapchat’s also sending a group of Snap creators to the game to get inside access to the event:
“For the first time, Snapchat has collaborated with the NFL to launch an official NFL x Snapchat Creator Program, bringing Snap Stars to the Super Bowl. Creators including Katie Austin, Ross Smith, Jack Mancuso, and Treasure Wilson will capture and share their unique perspectives through content posted to Stories and Spotlight, giving Snapchatters a behind-the-scenes look at all the action.”
Finally, Snapchat will also integrate its Snapchat Cam into Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, which will enable the NFL to place Lenses on attending fans “including a custom New Orleans Super Bowl themed helmet as well as Eagles and Chiefs helmets to foster a shared sense of excitement throughout the crowd.”
That will help to promote Snap’s AR effects to a huge audience, both at the game and at home.
NFL is a major focus for Snapchat users, with 80% of U.S. Snapchatters planning to tune into the game, while around 90% of Snapchatters engage with sports content weekly. As such, Super Bowl weekend is a big moment for the app, and could see a heap of people logging on to share their thoughts about the event.
