From dorm room to prime-time: Tryp.com raises €3.1 million for travel tech growth


Copenhagen-based travel platform Tryp.com has closed a funding round of €3.1 million, allowing it to scale and grow its AI travel planning platform through 2025.

The funding round was led by Iberis Capital, and with the participation of EdenBase, ITV, GMPVC German Media Pool and Jacob Gade.

Founded in 2020 by André Sousa, Hélio Domingos, Inês Jorge, Sebastian Nørgaard, and Victor Thomsen, Tryp.com is a travel platform designed to simplify multi-destination trips by consolidating bookings for flights, trains, buses, and accommodation into a single interface.

Originally developed by six engineering students in 2020, the platform released its Beta version in 2021, leveraging its technology to scan “millions” of travel options, offering users affordable and convenient solutions for planning their journeys.

The company went public 2022.

Since its launch, Tryp.com has facilitated over 18 million trips to its 3 million different users, spanning more than 7,000 cities worldwide, and lists 28 million accommodation options.

Following an earlier funding round in 2023 to develop its virtual interlining technology, Tryp.com continues to attract investment to enhance its platform. The company’s focus remains on improving accessibility and affordability in travel, while streamlining the often-complicated logistics of multi-destination trips.

With its growing user base and technology-driven approach, Tryp.com is looking to position itself as a key player in the evolving travel technology sector.

In 2024, the company increased its marketing spend by 27%, achieving a 2.3x growth in revenue and a 2.1x increase in tickets sold. They focused on scaling their virtual interlining technology and databases, invested in machine learning to enhance conversion rates by 57%, and introduced Sandra, an AI travel assistant that facilitated over 24k conversations throughout the year.

This funding coincides with Tryp.com recent rebranding, along with new profile pages and booking management pages.
