Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan 2025 Targets Road Safety and Youth Awareness

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), under the leadership of the Hon’ble Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari, is driving the third edition of Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan 2025, an impactful public service awareness campaign dedicated to improving road safety across India. The initiative will host its third edition 4-hour telethon on 25th January 2025 in Mumbai, aiming to inspire responsible road behavior, reduce road crashes, and promote a collective commitment to safe driving practices. Shri Nitin Gadkari and Shri Amitabh Bachchan will lead the charge, strengthening the campaign’s reach and impact as it continues to drive change for a safer India.

According to official reports by MoRTH, the country witnessed 55 road crashes and 20 fatalities every hour. Over 4.80 lakh road crashes occurred in 2023, leading to more than 1.72 lakh fatalities. These alarming statistics highlight the urgent need for steady and dedicated efforts to improve road safety and propel awareness to induce behavioral change among Indian commuters.

Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan 2025 focuses on children and youth—the future of India—by making them key road safety champions. The campaign continues to reinforce its core message through its foundational pillars: Parvaah (Care), Pahel (Initiative), Prayas (Effort), and Parivartan (Change). These pillars will motivate individuals to take ownership for their actions on the road, to become more cautious and responsible, ensuring a safer environment for all.

Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan is more than just a campaign; it’s a movement that empowers every Indian to play their part in ensuring safer roads for everyone and bring positive change.”

“With the younger generation as catalysts for change, Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan is a step towards building a safer future. Through awareness, education and collective efforts, we can drastically reduce road crashes and save lives,” said Puneet Singhvi, Chief Executive Officer – Network18 (Digital) & President – Corporate Strategy, Network18.
