Nido secures €5 million to drive the energy transition through residential heat pumps

Madrid-based Nido, a platform innovating the commercialisation, design, and installation of heat pump systems in the residential sector, has successfully closed its Seed funding round, raising €5 million.

The capital was contributed by prominent investors, including Iberdrola, Ship2B Ventures (through the BSocial Impact Fund, supported by Banc Sabadell, the EIF, and AXIS), Zubi Labs, Decelera Ventures, and Silence VC, along with institutional support from the Instituto Valenciano de Finanzas (IVF), the city of Valencia, and ENISA. Including 15 additional business angels.

This investment will enable the company to continue its mission of accelerating the energy transition in Europe through cutting-edge digital solutions that simplify and optimise every stage of the heat pump installation process.

This investment is a major step toward our goal of democratising access to heat pumps in Europe,” said Germán Peralta, CEO of Nido. “We will focus on integrating artificial intelligence into our platform, expanding our engineering team, and optimizing our marketplace to more efficiently connect installers, suppliers, and customers. We want to be the key technology partner in the transition to a more sustainable future.”

Founded in 2023 by German Peralta, Julien Poitout, Matthieu Heusch, and Pedro Pablo Aparicio, Nido surpassed €250k in sales in 2023 and reached €1 million in 2024. Its platform has already facilitated heat pump installations in 10 autonomous communities, reducing more than 420 tons of CO2 per year.

Thanks to its 3D modeling (BIM) technology, Nido automatically generates material lists and installation guides in seconds, reducing execution times by up to a reported 75% and enabling any company in the sector to offer heat pump solutions quickly and accurately.

At Perseo, we seek innovative startups that help accelerate the energy transition. Nido is a great partner, demonstrating that technology can be key in bringing more efficient and sustainable solutions to homes—solutions that have a real and measurable impact on decarbonization, such as heat pumps,” highlighted Óscar Cantalejo, Head of Perseo, Iberdrola’s open innovation programme.

The platform offers an enhanced marketplace that directly connects installers with heat pump equipment suppliers, streamlining procurement. It features automated engineering capabilities, generating project designs—including hydraulic and electrical components—through BIM modeling. AI-powered tools provide real-time support for installers while optimising project design. Additionally, integrated financial and administrative solutions simplify access to this technology for end customers, making adoption more seamless.

We invested in Nido because of its holistic approach to heat pump installations, driving energy efficiency in homes and generating a systemic impact in the transition toward a more sustainable and resilient model. Additionally, we are excited to support them in their expansion across Europe,” added Jaime de Antonio, Investment Manager at Ship2B Ventures, an impact fund manager focused on Climate Change, Quality of Life, and Education.

With this investment round, Nido aims to position itself as a key player in the energy transition in Spain and other European markets, such as France and Germany. The company invites energy firms, installers, and strategic partners to join its vision of building a more sustainable future.
