Singtel and Qualcomm have reached a significant milestone with their collaborative efforts on an innovative AI-powered Wi-Fi gateway. This marks the completion of a proof of concept (POC) that leverages Qualcomm’s Smart Traffic Classifier, an integral part of the Networking AI Suite used within the Dragonwing Wi-Fi 7 platform. The experiment successfully showcased the ability to reduce average latency by up to 50% for applications in highly congested environments. This improvement is especially significant for time-sensitive applications such as online gaming, streaming media, and video calls.
Building on this positive outcome, Singtel intends to commercialize this AI-driven technology, with plans to initially launch it in Singapore. By harnessing Qualcomm’s NPro 7 and N7 platforms, Singtel is poised to introduce further AI advancements aimed at enhancing customer experiences and meeting rising demands for efficient connectivity solutions.

As homes become increasingly reliant on steady, high-speed connections for various activities, such as working from home and smart home operations, managing these demands efficiently is crucial. The collaboration between Singtel and Qualcomm has broader implications beyond mere technology applications. It serves as part of a larger Memorandum of Understanding designed to foster the development of technological solutions across Asia and beyond.
