AT&T Certifies Celona for Improved Indoor CBRS Coverage

AT&T has recently certified Celona’s neutral-host system for enhancing indoor CBRS coverage. This accomplishment marks another significant step in expanding reliable cellular access in indoor spaces where coverage is often inadequate. Prior to this, Celona’s solution had already received approval from T-Mobile, and it’s currently pending validation from Verizon.

The core appeal of Celona’s system lies in its ability to streamline and reduce the costs associated with deploying indoor cellular solutions. Compared to traditional Distributed Antenna Systems, multi-operator support in neutral-host models is relatively more cost-effective. They cater to up to five operators including enterprise private networks within the CBRS spectrum.

Celona’s focus is predominantly on creating a “light-touch” system, highlighted by its applicability in sectors like healthcare and retail. A notable success comes from deployment at Stanford Health Care, indicating positive infrastructure support compliance against stringent criteria including emergency call services like e911. “Beyond ensuring reliable public cellular connectivity within our facilities, we envision utilizing this platform to establish a secure private wireless network dedicated to essential medical technologies,” said Christian Lindmark, Chief Technology Officer at Stanford Health Care.

The combination of cloud-based architecture and multi-operator software exchange facilitates seamless integration with public cellular networks. This, in effect, allows users to connect effortlessly to the service, enjoying the same quality as regular public cellular service. Enterprises need only one contract with Celona, making the deployment process straightforward and cost-effective.

With healthcare and other environments identifying the potential for improved communication and secure wireless networks, Celona’s neutral-host system stands as a versatile solution. This deployable infrastructure provides coverage across facilities from retail stores to large hospitals, benefiting businesses of varying scales. Mehmet Yavuz, co-founder and CTO of Celona, emphasized the significance of AT&T’s certification, stating: “Celona Neutral Host represents a significant advancement in enterprise connectivity.”
