Deutsche Telekom made a strong impression at MWC 2025 with the introduction of its AI Phone, highlighting its commitment to artificial intelligence. The phone aims to simplify daily tasks, offering a virtual assistant capable of handling various responsibilities. These include booking taxis, making reservations, translating languages, shopping, and drafting emails. This integration removes the need to juggle multiple apps.
The AI assistant is powered by Perplexity, and features additional tools from Google Cloud AI, ElevenLabs, and Picsart will follow. Deutsche Telekom plans to release the AI Phone in the latter half of 2025. The enhancements make these technologies accessible to users, enriching customer experience and streamlining interactions.
Underpinning these efforts is “Magenta AI,” a centralized hub within the MeinMagenta app. This hub already includes Perplexity’s answer engine and will expand with tools from Google Cloud, ElevenLabs, and Picsart. Google Cloud AI offers real-time object recognition, ElevenLabs converts text into podcasts, and Picsart provides personalized image creation. This service is available free for all Deutsche Telekom customers.
On the operational front, Deutsche Telekom unveiled 30+ AI solutions for enterprises, government bodies, and smart cities. These tools include an AI chatbot for the judicial system to facilitate legal document searches and improve court processes. Additionally, advanced AI-driven cybersecurity measures are on display. Their “honeypots 2.0,” enhances digital security by fooling cybercriminals during simulated attacks while studying their tactics.
Network optimization efforts are bolstered by AI, thanks to a partnership with Google Cloud. Their “RAN Guardian Agent” is an AI assistant analyzing network behavior, detecting anomalies, and implementing self-repair measures. This system is particularly beneficial during high-demand scenarios, assuring better mobile performance during large events or congested situations.
