Evolytes raises €1.3 million to scale its K-5 math learning platform globally

Evolytes, a Reykjavík-based elementary math learning platform, has raised a €1.3 million in a Seed funding round to drive further revenue growth and impact in Latin America, India, Middle East, South East Asia, and the U.S.

The round was co-led by Omega and Pekron Family Office and follows a €473k pre-Seed in 2021, led by NSA Ventures – Evolytes is already serving more than 160,000 students across 1,400 schools in the U.S.

Mathieu Grettir Skúlason, CEO & Co-founder of Evolytes, says: Students are increasingly developing a negative attitude towards math early on in their lives which is heavily impacting their academic potential. Evolytes is empowering a new generation of learners to get the foundation they need in mathematics through a medium they know and love. A student who is motivated to learn is all a teacher needs to do their magic—that’s what Evolytes brings to the classroom.”

Founded in 2017, and born from interdisciplinary research, Evolytes aims to establish itself as a unique supplemental math tool – giving students the practice they need to excel at math early on.

According to Evolytes, their platform has shown an “unprecedented ability” to impact student outcomes, attitude and engagement across numerous blended and hybrid learning models in diverse geographies.

This latest funding round will further propel revenue growth and impact in the geographies where Evolytes operates.

As per Evolytes, what makes them different is their high-quality game, universe and world-building, as well as character-driven narratives which reportedly rival the games and brands children interact with in their own free time. Evolytes incorporates math learning into one big adventure, instead of simply digitising math exercises or yet another bundle of math mini-games.

Global student performance in mathematics faced challenges even before the Covid-19 pandemic and has seen a significant decline in its aftermath, despite being a key skill for success in the 21st century.

However, innovative solutions such as Evolytes are approaching math learning in new ways.

According to the company, they have made a compelling impact on education worldwide, empowering top-tier private schools across Latin America, the USA, and Southeast Asia, and some of the most underserved, rural communities in the world.

Its approach is transforming math education, demonstrating an ability to engage students, accelerate learning, and empower underperforming learners to build a strong foundation in mathematics.

This positions Evolytes as a game-changer in the EdTech space, driving social impact and fueling scalable growth.
