I woke up with a stiff neck this morning.
I must have dropped off the pillow in the middle of my slumber. You probably know how that feels. The neck is tight, the range of motion [without pain] is limited, and rotating it before a workout would require Panadol.
The remedy is simple. Seek external help. And I did not hesitate this time. A simple 60-minute neck plus full body massage would help lighten my body. And maybe… I was secretly looking forward to a good knead.
I was ushered to the seat next to the counter immediately after tapping my credit card on the VISA machine.
“10 minutes, Sir. The next available therapist will be done by now.”
I nodded and plodded to the sofa.
10 minutes is doable.
It was fun, too.
A sales masterclass in 10 minutes
The word is serendipity.
Because it is. I sat there scrolling my phone, waiting for time, and minding my [own] business. Focusing on me is a challenging thing. I am nosey. I like to watch the human traffic and observe interactions.
I wasn’t disappointed.
A senior walked past the counter, got curious, and did a U-turn. She was fascinated by the classic posters in multiple lightboxes with hands seemingly massaging the silky-smooth backs of young poster ladies.
This senior, 50-something [I am guessing], started pointing to the price catalog and asking questions.
Her voice was faint. I only caught snippets. She was asking about their full-body massages. And then, she pointed to one of the posters and asked more questions.
The girl at the counter, smitten by the TikTok dancers on her phone, springs into life. Of course. This is a prospect. She wants to close this sale.
And so, the counter lady put on her best smile. She answered every question thrown in her direction.
