Netmore Expands to Brazil, Strengthens Global LoRaWAN Presence

Netmore, a Sweden-based LoRaWAN operator, has expanded its reach to Brazil, following the acquisition of Dutch operator Everynet. Targeting sectors like energy, agriculture, transportation, and logistics, Netmore aims to provide advanced solutions and enhanced connectivity to Brazilian enterprises. The move marks a significant step in the company’s ambition to establish a global LoRaWAN network. This expansion will also introduce a new metering-as-a-service (MaaS) offer for water and gas utilities. This alternative to traditional capex-heavy advanced metering brings an approach tailored for cutting costs and enhancing efficiency.

The Everynet acquisition has solidified Netmore Group’s position as a major player in the non-cellular IoT market. Having previously acquired US-based Senet and established a strong presence in the Asia Pacific region, Netmore continues to lead in global LoRaWAN solutions. Everynet operates on four continents, including countries like the US, UK, Spain, and Ireland, with emerging opportunities in Brazil and beyond.

This strategic venture expands its reach to 17 countries, enhancing its global footprint and making it a top LoRaWAN provider. It offers South America the best-in-class low-power wide-area network coverage, which Netmore plans to expand further. Additionally, it combines its Network as-a-service (NaaS) and Platform as-a-service (PaaS) to collaborate on comprehensive solutions for areas like process automation and environmental preservation.

Netmore has appointed Gustavo Zarife as the country manager for Brazil and vice president for South America. Other leadership roles have been filled by key acquisitions from Everynet, including Frederik Oliver and Antonio Terlizzi. These appointments reinforce the team’s capability to drive digital transformation in new regions.

Ove Anebygd, chief executive at Netmore Group, emphasized the strategic importance of Brazil, noting it’s a rapidly developing economy with complex telecom regulations. This expansion is a testament to Netmore’s ability to cost-effectively manage both public and localized network services while maintaining high service standards. He stated, “Building on Everynet’s advancements, Netmore is well aligned with both infrastructure partners and solution providers to drive this digital shift.”

The MaaS solution presents water and gas utilities with a streamlined approach to pay monthly fees per meter, covering all repair and replacement services. This innovation is available in Europe and the US, with potential expansions evaluated regionally.

Andreas Stenhager, chief commercial officer at Netmore Group, highlighted, “By blending our operational expertise with flexible financing options, we offer MaaS solutions with competitive pricing and strong guarantees. This shift allows utilities to address crucial challenges, such as tackling non-revenue water, while we manage the technology. Our approach opens the potential of smart metering to a wider range of utilities.”
