Sparkle Expands Brazil Network with New Brasília PoP

Sparkle, a leading global operator headquartered in Italy, is extending its reach across Brazil by establishing a new Point of Presence (PoP) in Brasília. This strategic expansion, which marks Sparkle’s first PoP in Brasília and fifteenth within Brazil, addresses the increased demand for international connectivity. With this development, Sparkle is enhancing its network in Brazil, adding to its existing facilities in Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Rio De Janeiro, Salvador, and São Paulo. This move underlines Sparkle’s position as a global Tier-1 network provider in Latin America and across the Americas.

The new Brazilian PoP is integrated with Sparkle’s vast-tier 1 IP backbone network, Seabone. As the sixth largest IP network globally, Seabone covers extensive territory, including Central and South America, with 18 PoPs across key regions such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Panama, Peru, and Puerto Rico. Sparkle utilizes various terrestrial and submarine networks offering diversified routes, that include the Curie, Monet, Seabras-1, and Manta, to ensure redundancy and optimal data quality from South to North America.

By extending its infrastructure in Brasília, Sparkle reinforces its IP transit service offerings, capable of delivering scalable bandwidths of 10 GB, 100 GB, and 400 GB. Network operators, ISPs, OTTs, and content providers will benefit from Sparkle’s reliable services. The support package includes versatile IP solutions, like DDoS Protection and Virtual NAP, which offer virtual access to prominent Internet Exchange Points without additional infrastructure requirements.

This expansion is part of Sparkle’s broader strategy to leverage its massive 600,000 km fiber network, which spans across multiple continents including Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, complementing its extensive presence in the Americas and Asia. With a sales force active in 33 countries, Sparkle continues to innovate and support the growing needs of digital communications globally.
