Tata Power-led Odisha distribution companies (Discoms) have secured top national rankings among 63 power utilities in India, reaffirming their leadership in the sector. The ratings, released by the Ministry of Power, assess utilities based onĀ Financial Sustainability, Performance Excellence, and External Environment.
The rankings were announced during a Regional Review Meeting of the Power Sector in New Delhi, where theĀ Hon’ble Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, launched three key reports-Ā 13thĀ Integrated Ratings of 63 Distribution UtilitiesĀ (FY 2023-24),Ā 4thĀ Edition of the Consumer Services Rating of DISCOMs (CSRD) Report and 1stĀ Edition of the Distribution Utilities Ranking (DUR) Report.
Among the top-performing utilities,Ā TPCODL, TPNODL, and TPWODLĀ have each maintained theirĀ A+ ratingĀ in theĀ 13th Integrated Ratings of 63 Distribution Utilities for FY 2023-24. Operating asĀ joint ventures with the Government of Odisha, these Discoms exemplify the success ofĀ collaborative governance in power distribution, withĀ significant improvements in operational efficiency and financial performance.
Additionally, in theĀ 4th edition of the Consumer Services Rating of DISCOMs (CSRD) report, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) and Tata Power Company Limited (TPCL) Mumbai secured the highestĀ A+ grade, further cementing its reputation for consumer service excellence. The first edition of theĀ Distribution Utilities Ranking (DUR) ReportĀ also placedĀ TPWODL at the topĀ in the Distribution Utilities category, whileĀ TPDDL ranked among the best performers in the Urban Discoms category;Ā reflecting Tata Power’s prowess in managing diverse distribution networks efficiently.
