YouTube Launches AI Stickers for Shorts, Polls for Live

After announcing a range of new updates at its “Made On” event yesterday, YouTube has today announced a few more updates and tweaks, which could be relevant to your strategy.

First off, YouTube’s rolling out AI-generated stickers for Shorts, which will enable you to create custom, text-to-image stickers that can be added to your Shorts clips.

YouTube first announced the option back in April, with the process enabling creators to generate whatever stickers they might like, as another decoration for their clips.

And now, YouTube’s launching the option more broadly.

As per YouTube:

Use an AI sticker to generate something from your imagination, or an image sticker to add photos from your phone’s gallery. These new features build on our existing five stickers which include Q&A, add yours, poll, quiz, and shopping.”

It could be another option to consider to build on your branding, or just to add a little more personality to your Shorts.

YouTube’s AI stickers are now available on Android to creators in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, with more regions to follow.

In addition to this, YouTube’s also rolling out the option to create stickers from images in your camera roll to all users.

Sticking with stickers, YouTube’s also rolling out live sticker polls on mobile, which will provide another way for live stream creators to engage their audience.

As you can see in this example, live-stream creators on mobile will now be able to post polls that can be overlaid on the playback window, adding another means for viewers to engage.

“Creators can customize the color, text, size, and position of the live sticker poll, and include up to four options.”

It could be another consideration for your streams, enabling simplified feedback and engagement.

YouTube says that live poll stickers will be made available globally, on both Android and iOS, in the coming weeks.

Finally, YouTube has also launched some new gifts for vertical live streams in honor of National Video Games Day, including a golden goat, a “GG” icon, and more.

YouTube says that the stickers will be available to U.S. creators and viewers from this week.
